Fall In Love With Downtown Auckland, An Architectural Wonderland 🏢🏙️🌃

Auckland is New Zealand’s capital city and its biggest population center, it has a long history of a hub and this is seen through the rapid and varied development of the CBD. Having escaped destruction from war or natural disasters the city offers buildings and districts from various eras in time, especially on the main Queen street.

The main shopping street leads to the waterfront where you find the main railway and ferry terminals, both stunning buildings over 100 years old. Queen street itself is lined with beautiful art deco buildings that used to house the many department stores that dominated in their day.

With the boom of the 1990s there has been various new landmarks added like the glass skyscrapers and of course the sky tower - Auckland’s main landmark.

Be sure to check out the smaller side streets that span off the main shopping street as they have many coffee shops, charity shops and independent fashion stores.

I really loved wandering around Auckland and found it really diverse and interesting, definitely worth a few hours of your time if you are visiting!
