Exploring Baku’s Historic Heart: Istiqlaliyyat Street is a total showstopper! 🏙️✨ Nestled in the center of the city, it’s lined with gorgeous architecture, buzzing cafés, and a seriously stylish vibe that’s perfect for easy wanders and atmospheric travel pics.
Must-See Spot: Istiqlaliyyat Street
Stay at Apartment on Istiqlaliyyet 57 (57 İstiqlaliyyət Küçəsi Apartment 4) — this location is clutch for Baku’s old town. Step outside and you’re immediately in the mix, with leafy parks, cool boutiques, and all the photogenic buildings you could ask for. You’re also walking distance from the city’s top sights, including Fountain Square and the Maiden Tower (about a 10-minute stroll)! Most cafés here open around 9am and run until late — ideal for spontaneous snack stops.
🌟 My tip: Take a stroll in the evening when the street lights come on — everything looks super magical, and the energy is just right for people-watching or snapping some golden hour shots. Plus, Istiqlaliyyat has some offbeat bakeries and little bookstores — don’t miss those!
Getting Around: Public buses and taxis are everywhere, but honestly, this location is so central you can walk most places. For metro, the Sahil and Icherisheher stations are about 15 minutes on foot.
Food: Local favorite — try dolma or pilaf at a nearby Azerbaijani eatery, or grab fresh pastries at one of the bakeries dotted along the street.
Useful Details: Baku is visa-friendly for many countries (check requirements before booking!). Cash is king in smaller shops but most cafés take cards. Summers are hot — pack light and wear comfy shoes for all that street exploring!
