A very large dog cafe. The dogs had a lot of fun playing.

Here's a review of the Dog Obstacle Race, which features mudslides, swimming, crawling through tunnels, jumping over obstacles, and more. We were invited to try out the 25+ obstacle course with Dox Race The Obstacle Run. Having seen videos of this type of race abroad, we never imagined it would be held in Thailand. When the organizers contacted us, stating they wanted a diverse range of participating breeds, we decided to try it out as Border Collies.
We arrived at Anyhound - Cafe & Dog Park early in the morning to register our dogs. The race is divided into several rounds, each with a different start time to avoid overcrowding. The two dogs we brought, Pixia and Pad Thai, were placed in the small-to-medium dog round. There was one dog and one guardian. Dogs must be on leashes at all times, secured to a harness that doesn't interfere with their movement. Using leashes with collars is not permitted. Safety is our top priority. A leash that can be tied to the waist is recommended, as it eliminates the need to constantly hold the leash, allowing for faster movement.
As soon as the signal sounded, it was time to start. We ran hard, and my little sister started to pace. Seeing the other teams ahead, she tried even faster to catch up. Finally, we reached the mud pit where we had to swim across. There was a large rope to hold onto, guiding us to the other side. But then we got stuck in traffic. The ones behind us couldn't pass because we were blocking the way. The story goes like this: while swimming, my shoe suddenly disappeared into the mud. Now I'm barefoot. I can't just give up my shoe so soon after starting. So I decided to reach down and dig out the mud to find my missing shoe. Once I recovered it, I climbed back up to find a suitable spot to put my new shoe back on. I want to remind all competitors to tie their shoelaces as tightly as possible so they don't end up like me.
The next stage I remember vividly was the stage where we had to carry my little sister and balance her on a log until the end. I carried Pixia over my shoulder, while Pad Thai was carried in a princess pose. Everyone was carrying her in different ways. I kept thinking, "When will this stage finally end?" Mom was starting to get tired. When I looked back, Pad Thai looked like she had fallen asleep in mid-air. I think the princess-carrying position might be more comfortable. Pad Thai is why they look so dreamy.
After completing 25+ stages, the kids were already asleep, waiting for us to eat. We had chicken rice, pork blood soup, and basil soup to recharge. Before running, I didn't think the kids would be this tired. But the unusual environment—wading through water, mud, stepping on dirt, and crawling on grass—created different textures and smells, making the kids use their brains and energy a lot. The drive home was especially quiet. This run was a great way to bond between owner and dog. Both dogs and humans got exercise and improved their health at the same time.
Dog running equipment:
- Non-stop Freemotion Harness 5.0, size 4. This model is commonly used by runners and dogs crossing obstacles overseas, especially in canicross, bike racing, and ski racing.
- Kurgo Quantum 6-in-1 Dog Leash. This leash can be adjusted to your preference. You can wear the leash over your shoulder or waist, eliminating the need to hold it constantly. It's also gentle on the skin.
Running Equipment for People
- We recommend trail running shoes with deep treads for good traction, as many bases are slippery. Having shoes that you can feel confident in will greatly help. Of the two pairs I tried, the Salomon SPEEDCROSS 6 shoes were the best for this race.
