Golden glitter🌟Reclining Buddha

Wat Pho is one of the oldest temples in Bangkok
Most visitors to the Grand Palace
We will also visit the nearby Wat Pho (ticket is 200 baht).

Wat Pho is most famous for being the fourth largest reclining Buddha in the world.
It is also the largest indoor Buddha statue of Gautama Buddha in Thailand.
The Buddha's body shines with golden light, and is 46 meters long and 15 meters high.
Very solemn and very domineering at the same time!

The Temple of the Reclining Buddha is also the birthplace of Thai massage.

Main hall (you need to take off your shoes, there are handbags provided at the door for tourists to put their shoes in, and then carry them into the hall)

In addition to the huge golden reclining Buddha, the huge pillars in the temple are made of masonry covered with gold foil and precious stones.
Coupled with colorful paintings🎨, it shows a strong religious atmosphere

After admiring the statue of Reclining Buddha
You can also donate 20 baht for sesame oil on site.
Replace it with a bowl full of dimes
There are 108 round bowls placed in the hall.
(The legend is that the Buddha went through 108 stages from birth to Nirvana)
Throw the coins in dispersedly from beginning to end. It is said that it can make wishes and keep you safe.

Go to the temple to worship the gods🙏🏻 or just do as the Romans do in the countryside 😉

When you reach the last 1-2 round bowls, you will find that there are the largest number of coins inside.
Because everyone will pour in all the leftovers🤣🤣

I'm not the first to do this, but I won't be the last either🤣

After visiting the Grand Palace, visit Wat Pho
Learn a lot about Thai history and Buddhist culture,
In addition to the main hall where the reclining statue is crowded, other areas of Wat Pho such as the Main Hall, Pagoda, etc.
You can also easily take photos of no-one at scenic spots

Remember🚫Most temples in Thailand also have dress requirements
Don’t dress too revealingly or casually
It is best to avoid shorts, sleeveless tops, slippers, etc.
In some temples, you are not allowed to wear hats or sunglasses.

If you arrange a visit with the Grand Palace
It is recommended to visit the Grand Palace first (the Grand Palace is only open until 3:30 pm)

PS:
Some tourists’ itinerary includes the Grand Palace + Wat Pho and then Wat Arun
But if you also want to challenge the traditional Thai server, you may be too pressed for time.
Or you can just walk around and watch the lights🎠

The sun in Thailand is too strong after graduation🔥
Most of the temples are outdoor attractions

transportation:
MRT to Sanam Chai Station Exit 1 or
BTS to Saphan Taksin Station, Exit 2 to Central Pier, take the blue/orange boat to N8 Wat Arun and then take the ferry
