My Top 3 Favorite Temples Visited in Bangkok 🛕
📸1st and 2nd photos
Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen
The emerald green, fantastical ceiling painting on the fifth floor is mysteriously beautiful. The stupa is packed with Buddhist art. There is also a huge white Buddha statue on the grounds, which seems to be a symbolic presence!
💰: Admission is free.
Shoes must be removed and placed in the shoe rack as no shoes are allowed inside.

Wat Arun Ratchawararam
Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), dyed by the sunset, is one of Bangkok’s three major temples. Especially at dusk or when lit up at night, it’s truly a spectacular view. The view from the opposite bank near Wat Pho is also popular. During the day, the detailed ceramic decorations are very cute, and I took many photos✨
💰: 200 baht

Wat Ratchabophit Sathit Maha Simaram
This temple, Wat Ratchabophit, is not well known to tourists but is actually a highly prestigious temple with royal connections. There were very few people, so I could enjoy it slowly. The cloisters surrounding the golden shining stupa have a unique beauty that blends Thai and Western architectural styles, giving off a refined atmosphere. The main hall is said to be beautiful with marble and stained glass, but it was closed and I couldn’t see inside.
💰: Free
📍: About a 10-minute walk from Wat Pho!
Definitely visit if you have time!
Basically, I traveled by bus, on foot, or by train. For the bus, I used the Thai bus app "ViaBus" and Google Maps while watching carefully. Bus fares vary depending on the color, air conditioning, and where you get off, ranging from 8 to 30 baht (about 45 yen for 10 baht). Once on the bus, sit down and when the bus staff comes, tell them your destination and pay. It’s a bit nerve-wracking, but once you get the hang of it, it’s cheap and very convenient👍
