Hoi Tod Chao Lay, located in a small alley in Bangkok's Thonglor area, is a local gem recognized by CNN and loved by both locals and travelers. Despite being a small local eatery, it is always bustling with people, thanks to its popularity. The kitchen is lively, with dishes cooked quickly in large woks, imparting a smoky flavor. This time, I ordered Pad Thai and oyster pancakes. The Pad Thai featured a sweet and savory sauce combined with bean sprouts, eggs, and shrimp, creating a rich flavor. The noodles were chewy and absorbed the sauce well, offering a delightful taste with every bite. The oyster pancake was crispy on the outside and packed with fresh oysters inside, delivering a mix of ocean freshness and nuttiness. Its crispy exterior and moist interior pair perfectly with beer or other beverages. The prices are reasonable, and the food quality is excellent, making it a satisfying meal. It's a great spot to enjoy authentic Thai local flavors in a simple yet fulfilling way.
Perfect for lunch or dinner plans in Bangkok's Thonglor area.
