Katsuya Review – The Original Japanese-Style Crispy Pork Cutlet

This place is truly one of a kind! It’s not your typical polished, Instagram-perfect café — stepping inside feels like traveling back to the 19th century.
From the outside, it looks unremarkable — a narrow wooden door and weathered white walls — but once you step in, the whole vibe changes completely. It’s vintage with a touch of mystery.
The building used to be a bank, then a hospital, before being transformed by a designer into what it is today. Much of the old charm remains: unpolished walls, peeling ceilings, raw textures that somehow give the space so much soul. Add in a spiral staircase, an old piano, green lamps, and animal specimens — it’s like walking into a fantasy scene from a Netflix film. 🎬
☕️ Food: opinions are quite mixed, but I actually think it’s pretty good for café food!
I tried the carbonara, pork chop, and strawberry cake — beautifully plated, lovely ambiance, and decent taste (definitely not bad). Expect to spend around THB 1,000 per person.
There’s a minimum order (one dish + one drink per person).
But honestly, you come here mainly for the atmosphere.
📸 Photo tips:
Come early — it gets busy and harder to get clean shots later.
The lighting near the windows is gorgeous — perfect for vintage-style photos.
White or beige outfits match the aesthetic perfectly! 🤍
🚇 How to get there: MRT Hua Lamphong – about 5 minutes on foot.
🕰️ Opening hours: 11:00 – 22:00
If you’re looking to slow down and soak in some nostalgic charm,
The Mustang Blu offers a quiet kind of ritual amid Bangkok’s chaos. 🖤
