Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen is a third-class royal temple located in Phasi Charoen District, Bangkok. This ancient temple dates back to the mid-Ayutthaya period. It is renowned for Phra Mongkolthepmuni (Luang Por Sodh Candasaro), a former abbot known for propagating the Dhammakaya meditation technique. The temple features a massive bronze Buddha statue in a meditative posture, with a width of 40 meters and a height of 69 meters, equivalent to a 20-story building. This statue was completed in 2021. Additionally, the temple houses the Great Maha Ratchamongkol Pagoda, a stunning five-story glass pagoda that is beautifully decorated and enshrines sacred relics of the Buddha. The temple is a popular attraction for international visitors. Anyone passing by should make it a point to visit this magnificent site.
