I planned a trip to Spain specifically for the Sagrada Familia, but the moment I actually saw it, I can't describe how awe-inspiring and moving I was.
This towering, majestic cathedral has been under construction since 1882 and remains unfinished. Gao Yi dedicated 43 years of his life to its construction.
The Sagrada Familia has three facades: the Nativity, the Passion, and the Glory. There are 12 bell towers, representing the twelve apostles. Six more towers atop the dome represent Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, and the four Gospel writers (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John).
"Straight lines belong to man, curves belong to God."
For this reason, the Sagrada Familia utilizes numerous curved structures and incorporates many natural elements, including flora and fauna. Feeling the natural sunlight bathe the cathedral, it felt like being in a forest, experiencing the wonders of the Creator. At that moment, tears welled up in my eyes, and I marveled at the unwavering faith and beauty of this world.
