A Taste of West Java in Batam: Saung Sunda Sawargi

During my recent trip to Batam, I had the pleasure of dining at Saung Sunda Sawargi, a restaurant that brings the flavors of Sundanese cuisine to the island. Located conveniently in Batam Center, it's a spot that's both accessible and inviting. The ambiance of the restaurant is reminiscent of traditional Sundanese settings, with wooden structures and a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. It's an ideal place for family gatherings or a relaxed meal with friends.

The food was pretty good and came with a generous serving. The flavors were authentic and satisfying. The Perkedel Jagung (corn fritters) and Tumis Kangkung Belacan (stir-fried water spinach with shrimp paste) were my favourites. Both dishes complemented the main courses well and added depth to the meal. Overall, Saung Sunda Sawargi offers a delightful dining experience that captures the essence of Sundanese cuisine. If you find yourself in Batam and are craving authentic Indonesian flavours, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
