Bite Restaurant, Batam – A Hidden Gem for Flavour and Quality

We had lunch at Bite Restaurant while waiting for our room to be ready during our stay in Batam, and I have to say — we were genuinely impressed.
We ordered the Ikan Bakar and a Caesar salad, and both dishes exceeded our expectations. The fish was beautifully grilled, and we’re quite certain it was done over charcoal — the uneven char and that smoky aroma gave it away. It packed a bold, earthy flavour that my missus loved so much she practically cleaned the plate.
I had prawns added to my salad, and they too were charcoal-grilled — a thoughtful touch that added a whole new dimension to a classic Caesar. The portion was generous with several perfectly grilled prawns that brought a lovely smoky sweetness to the dish.
To go with the food, my wife ordered a mix of mocktails and cocktails, which she thoroughly enjoyed. I stuck with my usual coffee, which turned out strong and satisfying.
Price-wise, it’s definitely on the higher end compared to local standards, but you get what you pay for — quality ingredients, good portions, and well-executed flavours.
The ambiance was relaxed yet polished, and the service was attentive throughout. All in all, Bite Restaurant turned out to be a surprising highlight of our trip, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return again for another meal.
