Review of the Temple of Heaven, built during the reign of the Yongle Emperor of the Ming Dynasty in 1420 AD, to perform the ceremony of worshipping the heavens and earth according to the ancient Chinese beliefs, asking for rain to fall according to the seasons, so that the crops will be abundant. It is 2.7 million square meters wide, 4 times larger than the Forbidden Palace. It is considered the most complete emperor's worship building in China and the largest worship building in the world✨
The entire building is made of wood, 3 stories high,
standing on a white jade base, without using a single nail in the construction. It is roofed with tiles. Dark blue means heaven. Inside the building
There are 4 large central pillars, which mean the 4
seasons. Outside the first floor, there are 12 pillars, which mean
12 months and another 12 ⭐️ on the outermost
represent the 12 hours of the day. The
ceiling is in the shape of 9 dragons. Inside
the palace, there is a dragon throne, which in 1998 was
recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage.
For those who want to come and take pictures with few people like this,
I recommend coming early in the morning, from the time the door opens at 8.00 a.m.
I chose the east side because the distance
to the Temple of Heaven is not very far. As soon as the door opens, hurry and run
in first. Most people will be in front of the Temple of Heaven, where there is a blue Chinese sign on top. Walk to the opposite side, there will be fewer people, like in the picture.
