Temple of heaven 🙏🏻

Temple of Heaven 🤲🏻

One of the world heritage sites that is a symbol of Beijing.
This place was built since the time of Emperor Yongle of the Ming Dynasty to be a place for worshiping and praying to the sky for rain in season and abundant harvests throughout the year to build morale and encouragement for the people.

The Temple of Heaven will have walls surrounding both the inside and outside. The northern wall is round, while the southern wall is square. According to the Chinese belief that 'the sky is round and the earth is square', the round building represents the human world. The dark blue roof tiles represent the sky and heaven.

Inside, there is a museum zone to see the history, photos from ancient times, and models to see.

How to get there: Take the Metro Line 5 and get off at Tiantan Dongmen Station. Take Exit A. We intended to enter through the east gate because it is the entrance closest to the Qi Nian Dian Palace, which is the highlight here. ✨

🕰️Opening hours: 08.30 - 22.00 Closed every Monday
