Beijing's Ultimate Summer Escape! This Homestay in Changping Let Me Escape the 40°C Heat

Who really understands how hot Beijing summers are! Luckily, I found this "Backyard Homestay" in Changping's Liusigang. A 1.5-hour drive to hide away in the green mountains, breathe fresh air, soak in hot springs, and watch the sea of clouds—this is the proper way to enjoy a summer vacation!

🏡【Backyard • Liusigang Homestay】— A Hidden Sanctuary in Qipanshan
I was hooked as soon as I arrived! Rammed earth plaster exterior walls + Japanese wabi-sabi style, this two-story small building is tucked in the green mountains. The courtyard has a swimming pool and a large lawn, and even the public area's triangular wooden design looks like a movie scene from a Japanese film—every shot feels cinematic~

✨So comfortable you won’t want to leave!
✔️All rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows! You can lie in bed and see lush forests. I stayed in the Four Seasons Private Hot Spring Room + Mountain View Suite. Soaking in the private hot spring while listening to pine waves, and at night looking up at the starry sky—full of ritual and charm.
✔️Super thoughtful details! Capsule coffee machine, imported mineral water, custom fragrances, tea sets—all provided. It’s even more comfortable than home.
✔️Even better on rainy days! The misty mountains look like they’re wrapped in a layer of blue smoke. Drinking tea and watching the rain in the courtyard instantly transports you into the poetic scene of “After a New Rain in the Empty Mountains.”

🎈So many activities! Perfect for families and pet lovers
▪️Outdoor pool is open! The water is crystal clear. Lying on Instagram-style loungers watching the mountain view is so relaxing you won’t want to move.
▪️Huge lawn for all kinds of fun! Kids can run around flying kites and playing with bubbles, adults can set up a canopy picnic, and you can even cuddle your furry friends (the homestay provides waste bags!).
▪️Handicraft experiences are super healing! Learn to make lacquer fans and intangible cultural heritage pottery with the masters—fun for kids and adults alike.

🍽️Food is also amazing!
▪️Breakfast is a custom health meal, nutritious and filling Chinese-style breakfast served in the courtyard with mountain views—pure happiness.
▪️Main meals must be booked in advance! Options include lamb hotpot, lamb spine hotpot, and Western pasta sets. Fresh ingredients, generous portions, enough for the whole family.
▪️Afternoon tea with mountain views! Sip coffee and zone out—fatigue disappears instantly.

📍Transportation & Nearby Attractions

•1.5-hour drive (starting from East Third Ring Road, via Jingzang + Jingli Expressways), navigate to “Liusigang Backyard Homestay,” parking available at the entrance.

•Nearby must-visit spots:

1. Liusigang Boardwalk (free! Boardwalk No. 2 for wheat fields, No. 3 for night views, golden wheat waves in May-June)

2. Baipu Temple (10-minute drive, Liao Dynasty ancient temple + thousand-year-old ginkgo, morning chanting is super soothing)

3. Baiyanggou Scenic Area & Great Wall (on the way, perfect for a day trip)

I lounged here for 3 days, waking up to birdsong every morning, watching the sunrise paint the mountain ridges red, BBQing at dusk, and stargazing at night—fully recharged! For city workers, families with kids, or those wanting to travel with pets, just go for it with your eyes closed~
