A Day Tour in Bern to Experience the Charm of a Medieval European Old Town

Spending just one day in Bern can be incredibly fulfilling! This Swiss old town feels like a fairy tale world, where you can stroll all day without getting tired, and your memory card will be full✨
💐Must-visit route:
Start your morning at the Rose Garden! The roses are in full bloom, and you can overlook the entire old town. Especially recommended is the area near the fountain, where the reflection of the red roses on the water looks dreamlike (this is the stunning angle in my cover photo!)
From the Rose Garden, walk down to the Zytglogge Clock Tower in the old town center. There’s a cute puppet show on the hour, so be sure to secure a good spot in advance~ The surrounding alleys are perfect for photos, with typical European architecture—every snap looks like a postcard.

☕️When you’re tired from walking, head to Einstein Cafe for afternoon tea! It’s located at Kramgasse 49 on the main street of the old town, right next to Einstein’s former residence. I recommend trying their apple pie paired with Swiss chocolate—it’s absolutely delicious.

🐻Don’t miss the Bear Park, the symbol of Bern! It’s a 15-minute walk along the river and free to visit. The adorable bears are very charming, and if you’re lucky, you might even see them swimming~
In the evening, be sure to wander around the old town! Cobblestone streets, arcaded shops, vintage fountains... every corner is full of surprises. The most worth visiting spot is Nydeggbrücke Bridge, breathtakingly beautiful under the sunset.

📌Practical tips:
The old town is small, so walking the whole way is no problem.
Buying a Day Pass for public transport is the most cost-effective.
Remember to bring coins! Many old fountains have drinkable water.
The clock tower show happens daily at 11:01 AM and 2:01 PM.
I’m completely smitten with this gentle and romantic city! Next time, I’ll definitely stay for a week to slowly savor its charm~
