🏔️ Shirahige Waterfall – Blue waterfall and scenic overpass

Shirahige Waterfall (White Beard Waterfall), located in Shirogane Onsen, is one of Hokkaido's most iconic waterfalls. Standing approximately 30 meters high, it cascades into the Biei River, a deep cobalt blue color due to natural minerals. The main viewing point is the Blue River Bridge, offering a panoramic view of the waterfall and the mountains behind it. It's especially beautiful in winter, when the surrounding trees are covered in snow. The nighttime illuminations add a romantic touch. Free parking, restrooms, and the proximity to the onsen make for a perfect photo stop before or after exploring Biei.
