📌What kind of country is Slovakia?
Slovakia is a small Central European country surrounded by Austria, Hungary, and the Czech Republic.
Prices are cheaper than in Western Europe, and the cityscape retains a charming medieval atmosphere.
Its appeal lies in its untouched tourist destination, where you can experience authentic Europe.
🇸🇰What kind of city is Bratislava?
Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, is a small medieval city stretching along the Danube River.
About an hour by train from Vienna, Bratislava is a popular stopover on European trips.
The Old Town (Staré Mesto) is lined with cobblestone alleys and colorful buildings, creating a picturesque landscape just by strolling around.
From Bratislava Castle, perched on a hill, you can enjoy spectacular views of the Danube River and the cityscape.
Apparently, the Blue Church (St. Alžveta's Church), with its pastel blue exterior and interior, is a popular photo spot! lol
My trip theme was "doing nothing," so unfortunately, I didn't visit the castle or the church!
The charm of the area is its rustic, calm atmosphere, which isn't overly touristy, making it perfect for solo travelers or day trips.
And best of all, there are endless wonderful cafes! 🤤
Below are some of the cafes I've actually visited and enjoyed.
📍Vydrica coffee and bar
Address: Beblavého 288/6, 811 01 Staré Mesto-Hrad, Slovakia
Hours: 10:00-2:00 (Closed Mondays, hours vary depending on the day)
Recommended Point: The atmosphere is undeniable! Its brick roof makes it feel like a hideaway. The signal is poor, but there is Wi-Fi, so ask the staff!
📍Foxford
Address: Obchodná 516/26, 811 06 Bratislava
Hours: 8:30 AM - 9:00 PM (varies depending on the day of the week)
Recommended Points: This wonderful cafe is located on the second floor of a wonderful bookstore. I love the window seats. The interior is filled with book and stationery-related items, making it a perfect space for book lovers. There's plenty of seating, Wi-Fi, and power outlets. The food is incredibly delicious and reasonably priced!
