Dreaming of that perfect lake + mountain vibe? My 2-day Brienz & Interlaken District run is what Swiss fairytales are made of! 🏞️ Picture cobbled streets, historic ruins, epic lakefront walks, and a deep dive into woodcarving culture.
Day 1: Brienz Old Town Magic
Start at Brunngasse Brienz (Brunngasse 3855, 3855 Brienz), known as “Europe’s prettiest street”—seriously, those wooden chalets are IG gold! From there, stroll to the Evangelical Reformed Church in Brienz (Chilchgasse 5, 3855 Brienz) for tranquil lake views and a peaceful vibe. Don’t miss the Schweizer Holzbildhauerei Museum (Hauptstrasse 111, 3855 Brienz, open Wed-Sun 13:30-17:00): the local woodcarving tradition here is legendary, and you’ll leave inspired.
Day 2: Lake Views & Ruined Castles
Kick off at Burgruine Ringgenberg (3852 Ringgenberg, open daily 08:00-18:00), where you can climb through ancient walls with a panoramic view of Lake Brienz—worth every step! Afterward, chill on the Brienzer Uferweg (Unnamed Road,Tunnelgässli 14, 3855 Brienz, open all day): a serene lakeside path perfect for slow exploring or sitting with a picnic.
Getting Around: Trains and buses run seamlessly between Brienz, Ringgenberg, and Interlaken—so go car-free and just relax. Buy a Swiss Travel Pass for epic convenience.
Food Tip: Try rösti or fresh lake fish at any lakeside restaurant in Brienz—trust, you’ll thank me!
Pack layers—mountain weather changes fast, and always carry cash as some cafés skip cards.
