• This fortress was one of the key defensive points of Korea during the Japanese invasion in 1592 (Imjin War). Korean troops held their ground until the very end, making the fortress a symbol of resistance.
• Commander Song Sang-jong refused to surrender, telling the Japanese: "A Korean general does not surrender while alive." He died in battle, and his statue still stands near the fortress.
• Every year, a reenactment of the battle takes place on the fortress grounds, complete with soldiers, drums, and war cries, recreating the atmosphere of the 16th century. It feels like a scene from a movie.
• This is one of the quietest historical sites in Busan, with almost no tourists, even though it is listed on Google as Cultural Heritage No. 62.
• In spring, the fortress transforms into a cherry blossom tunnel. In autumn, it is surrounded by perfectly golden foliage. Koreans come here for picnics and makgeolli.
