Wanyao Scenic Area is located in Qiaodun Town, Cangnan County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China. It is an ancient village with a long history and beautiful scenery. Wanyao Village was built in the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty and has a history of more than 600 years. It was once the main base for firing civilian blue and white porcelain in southern Zhejiang during the Qing Dynasty. It not only retains the traditional ceramic production process, but also integrates residential houses, ancient ceramic production lines, ancient temples, and ancient theaters, forming a living history museum.
One of the features of Wanyao Village is its ancient buildings such as stilted buildings and octagonal buildings built on the mountain, which reflect the unique style of southern Zhejiang dwellings. There are still more than 5,000 square meters of ceramic firing workshops and more than 30 traditional Ming and Qing dwellings in the village, with a total of more than 300 rooms. In 2011, it was listed as a provincial cultural relic protection unit. The history of ceramic production in Wanyao Village can be traced back to more than 300 years ago, and its products were once exported to Taiwan and Southeast Asian countries.
In addition, there are three-tiered waterfalls near Wanyao Village, each waterfall is 30 to 40 meters high, and below the waterfall is a bottomless green pool, adding natural beauty to the area. Although the buildings in Wanyao Village are old, they still retain their original structure and style. Some houses are divided into five floors according to different uses along the mountain, which is a wonderful design of a building within a building.
Wanyao Village is not only a famous historical and cultural village, but also a tourist destination full of natural beauty and cultural attractions, attracting many tourists to visit.
