Super hard-to-get tickets for Changbai Mountain South Slope

Changbai Mountain Scenic Area is divided into the North, West, and South Slopes. Tickets must be booked a week in advance through the official mini-program. Pre-sales open daily at 6:00 PM, with additional tickets released at 6:30 PM. Among these, tickets for the South Slope are the hardest to secure because of the strict visitor limits for each time slot. They usually sell out instantly! My travel companion and I tried booking tickets for different time slots, and luckily, we managed to get some.

There are no accommodations near the South Slope. We stayed at a hotel on the West Slope and asked the owner to arrange a private car for us. The driver waited for us at the scenic area parking lot while we explored.

After entering the scenic area, we took a shuttle bus directly to Tianchi (Heaven Lake). Initially, the lake was shrouded in thick fog, obscuring its beauty. But after waiting a bit, it revealed itself. The blue lake water, paired with the white mist on the mountains, alternated between clear and hazy views. Wow! No phone camera could truly capture its beauty! Every shot looked amazing! On the other side of the viewing platform, there are two large stones surrounded by iron railings, engraved with "Changbai Mountain" and "Tianchi." The line to take photos here was incredibly long, as everyone felt they had to get a picture since they were already there. There were also professional photographers offering paid services.

Reluctantly, we took the shuttle bus down to the "Yuehua Twin Waterfalls." The waterfalls were quite small and unimpressive! However, the surrounding butterflies 🦋 stole the show, landing on visitors, their bags, and even their hair, causing bursts of excitement. So adorable!

Another attraction was the "Yalu River Grand Canyon," which could only be viewed from above. You could hear the sound of water but couldn’t see the river itself!
