Self-drive tour around Changsha, feel the free wind at Heimi Peak.

Heimi Peak is located in Wangcheng District, Changsha City, at the junction of Changsha and Miluo, and is the largest national forest park in the suburbs of Changsha. It takes about half an hour to drive from the foot of the mountain to the top, passing three reservoirs along the way. At the top of the mountain, there is the "Heimi Ancient Temple" which is more than 1,200 years old. On a clear day, the top of the mountain is a great place to enjoy the moon and stars.

This time we stayed at the Shangu Li Homestay in the mountains. The homestay has a guest room area and a restaurant area. We stayed in the Heyuan Family Suite, which has a living room connected to a mahjong room and two bedrooms. The bedrooms have two 1.5m tatami mats and a 1.8m bed, and the room with the big bed also has a bathtub. The room also has a large balcony, where you can enjoy the lotus flowers in summer. The breakfast at the homestay is noodles and eggs, and it is very pleasant to have breakfast in the mountains!

The most worthwhile experience at Heimi Peak is paragliding. It only takes 4-6 minutes to fly down from the mountain. Standing on the top of the mountain, you can enjoy the open view and feel the free wind after taking off. This time, Wuwan and I both experienced paragliding. It was the first time for 3-year-old Wuwan to fly a paraglider, and he was calm and composed. He is really fearless like a newborn calf 🤙👍
