If you want an immersive Halloween experience in Changsha, Huayi Brothers Film Town is definitely the top choice! The European-style castle transforms into a "dark paradise," creating an intense atmosphere. Even better, staying at the Changsha Meixi Lake Jinmao Luxury Collection Hotel means just a 20-minute drive back and forth. Play hard during the day and relax at night—this trip is just perfect!
Huayi Film Town: The "Dark Fairy Tale" of Halloween
As soon as you arrive at the town entrance, you’re amazed by the Halloween decorations—vintage European buildings covered in "spider webs," pumpkin lanterns lining the streets, and NPCs dressed as vampires and witches weaving through the crowd. Their makeup is detailed down to every little part, making every photo look like a movie poster. Starting at 3 PM, the "trick or treat" parade is lively, with kids holding pumpkin buckets chasing NPCs for candy, while adults are busy checking in at the "haunted house escape room," with screams and laughter echoing all around.
The highlight is the evening "Undead Dance Party," where all NPCs gather in the central square, dancing to dark-themed music. The lights flicker, and the air is filled with the scent of pumpkins. I joined the crowd waving glow sticks, completely immersed in the Halloween celebration. I didn’t want to leave even when the park closed, but luckily the way back was smooth, so no stress about rushing.
Luxury Collection: The "Comfortable Support" Just 20 Minutes Away
Driving back to the hotel from Film Town via Yuelu Avenue and West Second Ring Road, there’s no traffic, and it takes just over 20 minutes. Once inside the hotel, you instantly switch from "dark revelry" to "quiet luxury"—the warm yellow lighting in the lobby and subtle fragrance immediately soothe the day’s fatigue. The concierge kindly took my glitter-covered jacket, and the front desk handed me warm ginger tea with a smile, saying, "Had fun? Drink some hot tea to warm up." Such thoughtful details.
The lake view room I stayed in still impresses—the window opens to the night view of Meixi Lake, with the soft lights of the art center in the distance, contrasting sharply with the Halloween vibe of the town. After a hot shower using the hotel’s premium bath products, lying on the soft big bed, the day’s excitement slowly settled, and I slept especially well.
The next morning, I enjoyed breakfast at the hotel—freshly made Changsha rice noodles, spicy and flavorful, paired with the lake view outside the window. After a leisurely meal, I took a stroll in the lakeside garden, perfectly ending this Halloween trip.
If you want to celebrate Halloween in Changsha without the hassle, the combo of Huayi Film Town + Changsha Meixi Lake Jinmao Luxury Collection Hotel is definitely the way to go! A 20-minute drive easily balances fun and comfort. I’ll definitely plan my next holiday trip this way!
