🌟Highlights:
The Chengdu Shu Brocade and Embroidery Museum is a national second-class museum. It is the largest Shu brocade and Shu embroidery cultural heritage base and research center in China, and the only professional venue in the country with a complete set of handmade Shu brocade production techniques and Shu brocade history and culture displays.
The museum has a rich collection of cultural relics. The basic exhibitions are divided into six sections: the origin of silk, Shu brocade throughout the ages, the history of embroidery, Ming and Qing Dynasty costumes, the evolution of looms, and Shu brocade techniques. Various textile and costume culture exhibitions and fashionable art exhibitions that blend ancient and modern elements are also held from time to time. With its rich collection and detailed content, the museum tells the story of the millennium-old brocade and embroidery culture.
The museum has a large Shu brocade weaving workshop, where national-level representatives of Shu brocade and their team demonstrate the handmade Shu brocade production process using a Qing Dynasty Daoguang period small flower building wooden loom. There is also a Shu embroidery technique exhibition hall, where the son of the first Shu embroidery national arts and crafts master of New China and a master of Chinese arts and crafts and his team demonstrate Shu embroidery needle techniques. It is an eye-opening experience.
