1️⃣ Weather warning
☀️ Current situation: Feels like over 40℃ in August, hot, humid, and steamy like a sauna
💔 Painful experiences:
• 1-hour wait at the Panda Base (even the pandas are hiding in air-conditioned rooms)
• Crowds packed in Jinli Ancient Street (a mix of sweat and hotpot smells hits you hard)
• Dujiangyan exposed to scorching sun with no shade (2-hour wait for Qingcheng Mountain cable car)
2️⃣ Accommodation pitfalls
🏨 Current status: Homestays on Chunxi Road have tripled in price but are still fully booked
⚠️ Pitfalls to avoid:
• Old houses with dripping air conditioners (beds are damp with mold spots)
• Bars downstairs noisy at midnight (still singing at 3 a.m.)
• Bed sheets with hair and stains (extra charge for room change)
3️⃣ Food traps
🍲 Chaos:
• Popular hotpot restaurants have 3-hour waits (broth price raised to 78 yuan)
• Snack prices on Jianshe Road doubled (grilled sweet potato skin 15 yuan/serving)
• Tea house ear cleaning 60 yuan/10 minutes (was only 30 yuan last year)
4️⃣ Traffic collapse
🚇 Tested:
• Metro Line 2 is packed during morning rush hour (waited for 4 trains to get on)
• Taxis take detours (3 km ride costs 35 yuan)
• Shared bikes all taken (walked until my feet blistered)
💡 Survival tips (if you insist on risking it):
✔️ See pandas at 6 a.m. (the only active time)
✔️ Cool off at Sichuan Museum (free and less crowded)
✔️ Eat at local alley noodle shops with locals (vegetarian pepper mixed sauce 8 yuan/2 servings)

💰 Real expense list:
Accommodation 800 + Transportation 300 + Food 500 = 1600 yuan (3 days 2 nights)
💔 Better recommendation: Go to Xichang at the same time (15℃ cooler, Torch Festival is super fun)
