💜 Don't miss the beautiful wine tunnel entrance, a photo opportunity!

The tunnel entrance, surrounded by lush greenery, is filled with beauty. The railway leading to the tunnel, the lush greenery, and the clear sky create a fantastic backdrop. Just walking through the tunnel feels like a photoshoot. :)

I love this beautiful photo spot, which naturally creates a different atmosphere, blending with nature: green in summer and autumn foliage in fall.

🩷 Cheongdo Wine Tunnel History

The Cheongdo Wine Tunnel, completed in 1904 as part of the Gyeongbu Line, boasts a long history of approximately 110 years. It's now a wine tunnel, storing and aging over 150,000 bottles of wine made from Cheongdo's specialty, persimmons. Measuring 1.01km long, 5.3m high, and 4.5m wide, the tunnel is surprisingly large and long, making it a great place to spend some time.

💜 Persimmon Wine Made with Cheongdo's Specialty, Persimmons

The Cheongdo Wine Tunnel, Korea's only red brick tunnel, emits a large amount of negative ions, making it ideal for wine aging. Throughout the tunnel, you'll find large oak barrels engraved with the name of the wine (regular or special), production year, and volume.

The persimmon wine, made from 100% persimmon juice stored here, was selected as one of the top 5 traditional foods in October 2004 and was also selected as the wine for the Busan APCE Summit delegation reception dinner in November 2005.

🩷 A glass of sweet persimmon wine, a romantic persimmon wine café

Inside the wine tunnel is a café that sells persimmon wine. They also offer persimmon wine, cakes, cheese, and more. Depending on the type of wine, prices range from 4,000 won to 20,000 won per glass. The wine tunnel café has a wonderful atmosphere, so sitting here enjoying a glass of sweet persimmon wine with cheese would be a wonderful experience.

Conditions prevented us from enjoying the wine inside the café, but we were able to make up for it by purchasing a set of persimmon wines, Gamgreen Regular and Special, on our way out.

Both persimmon wines are 375ml and 12% ABV. Rich tannins and a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. I finished the entire bottle and it was refreshing without a hangover. The regular was less sweet than the special, so I enjoyed the special even more.

💜 A wine tunnel full of photo spots

Don't turn back halfway through, and be sure to see everything to the end to avoid regrets! As you continue, you'll come across another door in the wine tunnel. You'll only be able to say you've been to the Cheongdo Wine Tunnel once you open it.

You know the photo that comes up most often when you search for "Cheongdo Wine Tunnel"? A giant, sparkling wine bottle model pouring wine into a large, illuminated wine glass! The dazzling golden lights in the dark tunnel are so captivating, you can't help but stare at them.

Walk a little further! Then you'll reach a spectacular photo spot. Colorful stars pour down, perfect for kids, and schools of fish swim in a luminous world. It's like stepping into a fantasy movie.

At the end of the tunnel, the theme is probably wishes. After passing through a place filled with notes with millions of wishes, you'll come across a large moon. I thought it might be a place filled with people's wishes, with a moon that grants them. Just my personal opinion, though. :)

🩷 It's cold, so bring a jacket.

I had a blast exploring the 1.01km Cheongdo Wine Tunnel, completely losing track of time and enjoying the cool breeze. Since the entrance isn't two-way, you have to circle back 1.01km to exit. If you missed a spot or missed a photo, this is your chance!

The inside of the wine tunnel is incredibly cool. It gets quite chilly as you walk, so be sure to bring a light cardigan or long shirt! It's a great indoor date spot on a hot summer day, so if you bring this sense of style, you'll definitely love it. :)
