#VisitChiangMai Wat Phra Singh Woramahawihan in Chiang Mai Province is a first-class royal temple in the Woramahawihan category in the center of Chiang Mai. It is an important temple that enshrines Phra Buddha Sihing or Phra Singh, an important Buddha image of Chiang Mai. According to history, it was built in 700 CE by the King of Sri Lanka and brought to Wat Phra Singh Woramahawihan in 1943 CE. You can pay homage at Wihan Lai Kham. Inside Wihan Lai Kham, there are also valuable old murals for you to walk around and see.
Phra That Luang or Phra Mahathat Chedi is the chedi for the year of the dragon. It was built in 1888 CE. It is 25 wa high with a square base 16 wa, 1 cubit and 6 inches long on each side. It is covered in white gold leaf around the chedi. The top of the umbrella is made of 10 kilograms of gold.
Phra Si Sanphet (Luang Pho To) is the principal Buddha image in the Wihan Luang. It is a stucco Buddha image in the meditation posture.
The Ho Trai is made of cement on the lower part and wood on the upper part. There are stucco images of various deities all around.
