PARI Chiang Mai, the shop where people have been waiting since before it even opened! 🍅

📍 Location & Atmosphere
PARI- is located on Samlan Road, Phra Singh area, Chiang Mai Old City. The shop is a warm home-cooked izakaya with a counter where you can watch the chef and small tables for close conversation. It is suitable for chilling with friends, a date, or having a drink after walking around the temples in this area.

📮 Easy directions: It is located opposite Phra Singh Post Office on the same road. It is an easy walk from Wat Phra Singh. If you drive, allow time to find parking on the side of the road.

⭐️ Guaranteed hot with MICHELIN Guide Selection 2025, highlighting the concept of high-quality small dishes, combining Japanese techniques with Thai ingredients—from organic tomatoes, Nan flower salt, to Yunnan ham and organic farm meat.

⏰ Opening hours
• Lunch: 10:00–14:00 (Mostly accept walk-ins / Lunch set available)
• Dinner: 18:00–23:00 (Advance booking recommended; main kitchen closes around 22:00 in some sources)

Check again before going on the desired date Because the time may be adjusted according to the season or special events.

📲 Why do you need to make a reservation? The shop is small, there are not many seats, and it is crowded in the evening—many reviews said that the service is served in rounds, and there are many foreign guests. If you want a comfortable seat, it is best to call or make a reservation through the shop in advance.

🍽️ The experience of the meal I went to eat

I went before the shop opened, and there were already people waiting in front of the shop! The atmosphere when the door opened, the first smell of charcoal wafted in. It felt like I was about to eat at a friend's house who is a chef who is very serious about ingredients. 😍🔥

Menu I tried

1. Yujang Tomato with Nan Flower Salt 🍅🧂
It opens the tongue very well. The tomatoes are sweet and juicy, the skin is thin. Just dip a little flower salt, the natural sweetness immediately shoots up. Even people who don't like eating fresh tomatoes will have to give up on this dish.

2. Wheat/Corn Fried Rice with Yunnan Ham 🍚🥓
Signature dish! Mixed grains are fried with butter until fragrant, sweet from the corn, and the salty and fragrant Yunnan ham is homemade in a local style. Delicious and very enjoyable to eat.

3. Charcoal Grilled Chicken 🍗🔥
Crispy skin with a charcoal aroma, soft and juicy meat, smooth but deep flavor due to very good marinating and heat control. This is the signature menu that I reviewed and is perfect for drinking.

4. Fried Khlong Ngae Tofu 🧀🍢
Crispy outside, soft inside, bite-sized, dipped in a salty, creamy sauce, giving it a dimension similar to eating at a local izakaya, but using good tofu with a fun texture.

5. Miso Soup 🍲
Delicious, salty, and slightly sour flavor, a good way to cleanse your taste buds before other courses.

6. Linguine Mentaiko 🍝🐟
Linguine noodles coated with mentaiko-style cod roe sauce, with just the right amount of creaminess. Alternating between eating and grilling is a great balance of richness/saltiness.

7. Sesame Ice Cream 🍨🌾
Smells like sesame, firm texture, not too sweet. End your meal in a light Japanese-Lanna style. Many reviews praise this flavor as “10 out of 10, no deductions”!

8. Roasted Rice Ice Cream with Honeycomb Sugar 🍨🍯
The crunchy texture of the roasted rice, contrasting the natural sweetness of the honeycomb sugar, is a dessert that brings the flavors of the entire meal back to the home-style Thai ingredients.

✅ Tips before going
• Almost always book dinner in advance, especially on Fridays and Saturdays.
• If you don’t book, come for a walk-in lunch and try the set. You’ll still get the feeling of food that cares about ingredients at a reasonable price.
• Call to ask in advance in case the time changes or there are special courses.
