Review of Chala Number 6 Hotel

Chala Number 6 Hotel
Northern Lanna maximalist with teddy bears 🧸

Overall - Located in the heart of Chiang Mai's old city, directly opposite Wat Chedi Luang and near the walking street (which is currently closed). Very convenient, modern, and stylish with a modern Lanna design. Features include Japanese toilet seats, excellent service, and a beautiful swimming pool. The hotel is only three years old, making it very new. However, the food is not very tasty.

1. I chose to stay here for four nights because I love Chiang Mai's walking street. Unfortunately, upon arrival, I found out that the street has been closed for several months. This is the only five-star hotel on the walking street. Nearby hotels include U Chiang Mai and Tamarind Village. There is a 7-Eleven next door, along with many restaurants, cafes, and famous temples.

2. The hotel consists of four buildings arranged around a central area that includes a swimming pool, garden, gym, restaurant, pond, and bar. It is relatively large compared to other hotels in the area. The swimming pool is particularly beautiful, featuring a four-meter-high waterfall that gives it a natural feel. The gym is small but well-equipped.

3. The deluxe room, at 33 square meters, felt small to me but was well-equipped. It includes a stand-alone bathtub, a Japanese toilet, and a minibar with complimentary items. The decor is simpler compared to the common areas. The suite rooms are more elaborately decorated and offer views of the temple, though the garden view within the hotel is even more beautiful.

4. Service is quick, convenient, and attentive.

5. The food is not good at all. Breakfast is very basic, while lunch and dinner are somewhat better.

6. The decor in the common areas, such as the lobby, feels overly crowded and busy to me. The restaurant is just five meters away and has a large sign. There are many real flowers, but they are mixed with a lot of artificial ones, which detracts from the serene beauty. Every tree and space seems to have something extra hanging on it. The restaurant's lighting resembles a bar in Pattaya. However, if the walking street were open and bustling, the lively theme of the hotel might feel more fitting.
