A short trip around Chiang Rai without going up a mountain

This trip was one of the first trips that we really started traveling. We wanted to go up north to experience the cold weather, but we didn't have much skill in driving up the mountain. So, we just wandered around Chiang Rai. But it was really surprising. We just found out that Chiang Rai has so many beautiful places to visit.

Today, we have compiled 10 places that new travelers can follow to share with you.

01 Sook cafe & hostel
This is where we stayed throughout this trip. It's a small hostel in the city center. The price is 250 baht per night. There are separate male and female rooms and dormitories. On top, there is a rooftop where you can chill, sip beer and enjoy the beautiful lights of Chiang Rai.

02 Singha Park
This is a place that combines flower gardens, tea plantations, cafes, and adventure activities in one place. Every February, there is an international balloon festival and concerts.

03 Pa Suk's Nam Ngiao
This shop is a famous shop in Chiang Rai. With its delicious taste and reasonable price, this shop is constantly visited by both tourists and locals.

04 Mae Fah Luang Art and Culture Park
This place is suitable for those who want to find a quiet place to walk around, with few tourists. There are exhibitions to walk around and see. The atmosphere is shady with strange plants to see.

05 Ochasama
A Japanese-style cafe with a nice atmosphere, suitable for sitting and relaxing, listening to the sound of flowing water and watching fish swim.

06 Ryokan Cafe
A Japanese-style cafe decorated with a bamboo forest in a Japanese style. The shop has bicycles for you to borrow to take pictures with Totoro, the mascot of this shop. There is a building that displays various paintings for us to walk around and enjoy.

07 Chivit Thamma Da Cafe
An English cottage-style cafe by the river. It serves both food and drinks. The shop is beautifully decorated. There are many photo spots. It has a vintage feel.

08 Wat Suea Rong Ten
This temple has very unique architecture. The church is blue with gold scrollwork. Wat Suea Rong Ten is a place that receives a lot of attention from tourists.

09 Manorom
A retro cafe. The building imitates an old Thai-style house painted white. The surrounding area is decorated with flowers and trees, making it look pleasing to the eye. The price of drinks at the shop ends with the number 6 because it is the shop's lucky number.

10 Melt in Your Mouth
A fusion cafe and restaurant. The shop is decorated in a European style. There are both air-conditioned seating areas and a shady garden area. We chose to eat Thai fusion food. It was a pizza with Hang Lay curry and a refreshing fruit smoothie.
