Phra That Pha Ngao Temple, Chiang Saen District, Chiang Rai Province

The name of the temple comes from Phra That Pha Ngao, which is located on a large rock. When the sun shines through it, it creates a large shadow on the pagoda, so the locals call it Phra That Pha Ngao. There are three pagodas at this temple: Phra That Pha Ngao, which is located at the foot of the mountain; further up is Phra That Chom Chan, which currently only remains as a five-meter-high pagoda; and on the top of the mountain is another pagoda, Phra That Chet Yot, which is a new pagoda built over the remains of the original pagoda, called Phra That Phutthanimit. On the cliff face next to the Mekong River, the temple has built a skywalk for people to walk and enjoy the view of the Mekong River without anything blocking their view. This is another highlight that you shouldn't miss. #Chiang Rai Travel #Northern Travel #Thailand Travel #Chiang Saen Attractions
