🏚 Wat Phra Non: The exact date of construction is unknown, but based on its architectural style, it is believed to have been built and used during the 20th-22nd Buddhist centuries. Archaeological excavations have uncovered the following historical sites:
🏚 Viharn Phra Non: A rectangular building aligned north-south. Fragments of a large reclining stucco Buddha statue, including the head, chest, and hair curls, were found. The statue is in a reclining posture (Nirvana pose), with the head facing south and the face turned east. 🙏🏽 The Reclining Buddha has now been restored.
🛕 Chedi: A small pagoda with a square base supporting an inverted lotus base and decorative moldings. The upper part has collapsed, but it is believed to have been a Lanna-style round chedi.
🏚 Viharn: Only the rear part of the building was excavated, revealing a base under a Bodhi tree and a foundation decorated with lotus motifs.
🧱 Artifacts found include fragments of earthenware produced from Lanna kilns, Bodhi-leaf Buddha amulets, and sandstone Buddha statues crafted in the Phayao artisan style.
🏡 Wat Phra Non: Located in Wiang Subdistrict, Chiang Saen District, Chiang Rai Province.
