The Ciqikou Ancient Town with Chongqing characteristics

The Ciqikou Ancient Town was originally named Ciqikou Town, Baiya Town, Baiyanchang Town and Longyin Town. It is located in Shapingba District of Chongqing City, adjacent to the Jialing River. Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Ciqikou has been an important water and land port and a distribution center for materials in the lower reaches of the Jialing River.
Ciqikou is one of the few places in Chongqing's main urban area where one can experience the flavor of old Chongqing, and is known as "Little Chongqing". Near the pier, there is a "Little Chongqing Monument" inscribed by Lin Sen, the former chairman of the Nationalist Government.
Ciqikou has now become a famous scenic spot in Chongqing. There are special snacks such as Chen Mahua, Guzhen Chicken Offal, and Maoxuewang. There are 12 streets and alleys in total, most of which are in the architectural style of Ming and Qing Dynasties. The streets are paved with stone slabs and lined with shops. The ancient town is known as the "Nine Palaces and Eighteen Temples". Ciqikou also has scenic spots such as Baolun Temple, Yunding Temple, Fuyuan Temple, Wenchang Palace, Hanlin Academy, Deep Water Well, and Bayu Folk House.
