The place on Earth that looks most like another world! I was left speechless by the beauty of Longshuixia Rift in Chongqing 🪨

“This isn’t Iceland, it’s Chongqing!”
After posting photos on social media, I was flooded with questions about the location—the answer is: Wulong · Longshuixia Rift!
📍One-click navigation: Longshuixia Rift Scenic Area, Xiannvshan Town, Wulong District, Chongqing
🚗 Transportation guide:
• High-speed rail: Chongqing North Station → Wulong Station 1h20min → shuttle bus 40min direct to the scenic area, total ¥46
• Self-driving: Exit at Wulong on Baomao Expressway, 1.5h drive, parking ¥10/day (very reasonable!)

⏰ Golden timeline | 2-hour immersive “Journey to the Center of the Earth”
9:00 Elevator down = crossing the starship cabin
80-meter vertical sightseeing elevator, drops in 3 seconds! The moment the door opens, the temperature drops 10℃ instantly, the cold air hits your face like entering a natural giant refrigerator.
⚠️ Tips: Stand in the last row inside the elevator for the best silhouette shots!
9:15 Jade Turtle emerges from the mountain
At first glance, the giant turtle-shaped rock wall shocked me so much I almost dropped my phone on the plank road! The rock layers look like they were split by Pangu, the cracks are so deep you can’t see the bottom, and drones flying down lose contact immediately (don’t ask, it’s a ¥5000 loss).
9:30 Milky Way Waterfall
Look up when you reach the valley bottom! An 80-meter waterfall rushes wildly from the crack above, water mist + sunlight = natural Tyndall effect, perfect for soft-focus portrait shots.
📸 Best spot: low-angle shot from the right side plank road of the waterfall, the wide-angle distortion on your phone makes it even more stunning!
10:00 One-line Sky
The narrowest part only allows you to pass sideways! The rock walls seep water and seem to breathe, touching them feels icy cold. Looking up, only a slit of sky remains, instantly understanding the phrase “sitting in a well and looking at the sky.”
10:30 Dragon Cold Cave
The legendary “heart of the rift”! Black rocks seep underground water, forming an eerie blue pool, water temperature stays at 4℃ year-round. Squatting beside it for photos looks like a portal to another world; wear bright clothes or you’ll blend right into the background.

🧗‍♀️ Gear pros and cons
✅ Must bring:
• Sneakers! The plank roads are so slippery you’ll question life
• Disposable raincoat (¥5 at the scenic area, ¥1.5 if bought online in advance)
• Power bank! Phones drain battery fast in the cold like a roller coaster drop
❌ Don’t do:
• Wear short skirts! The waterfall wind blows all the mist up, soaking you completely
• Bring selfie sticks! Some sections have a height limit of 1.2m, security will confiscate them on the spot

🍲 Wulong hidden menu
12:00 At the scenic area exit “Tujia Bowl-Smashing Liquor”
¥20/bowl for corn liquor + cured meat platter, smashing the bowl after drinking is max stress relief! The guy at the next table smashed 10 bowls in a row, the owner’s face turned green (bowls cost money, hey!)
13:00 Xiannv Town “Wanwan Lamb”
Highly recommended by locals! Lamb is weighed by two taels, 2 taels ÂĽ16, the soup base with mint leaves has no gamey smell. Paired with a bowl of potato rice, carb happiness goes straight to heaven.

💰 Money-saving hacks
• Tickets: Book on Trip.com 1 day in advance for ¥105 (¥20 cheaper than on-site), includes elevator + shuttle bus
• Students: Half price with student ID! Graduate students count too (tested and true)
• Timing tip: No entry after 4pm, but entering at 3:30pm offers the most magical light and fewer crowds!
----
📸 Filter settings (blogger’s secret weapon)
• App: Xingtu “French” filter +70
• Color adjustment: Temperature -15 (to highlight the coldness), Contrast +20 (makes rock layers sharper)
• Text template: Butter Camera “The Wandering Earth” sticker, instantly adds a sci-fi vibe!
----
⚠️ Safety reminders
• The plank road is 2km long, all downhill! Sisters with bad knees, I strongly advise against it
• No phone signal at the valley bottom, go with companions and don’t get separated
• The last climb is hell! 90° vertical stairs, climbing it feels like an out-of-body experience (there’s a slide pole for ¥200, sisters who tried say it feels like an emperor’s coronation)

🌟 Summary:
Longshuixia Rift = a mix of “Interstellar” + “The Lost Tomb” + “Chungking Express”!
My 128GB memory full of photos tells me: this isn’t Earth, it’s a parallel universe of Chongqing.
Promise me! Wear your flashiest clothes and go to the wildest rift!
