We visited Cebu, Philippines with our 8-year-old and 5-year-old children.
We wanted to have fun outside the hotel pool! So, here are seven activities we did as a family!
1. Lunch Cruise on the Loboc River
We enjoyed a Filipino buffet lunch while listening to live music on the boat.
2. Visiting the Chocolate Hills, a World Heritage Site
We saw a mysterious landscape of over 1,000 conical hills, each about 30 meters high. These hills are actually made of limestone covered in grass.
3. Cultural Experience with Locals
Our kids were a little nervous at first, but they gradually started to enjoy themselves as we played instruments and took commemorative photos together.
4. Meeting the World's Smallest Monkey, the Tarsier
The Tarsier is an endangered tarsier that lives on Bohol Island. It measures just 12cm and weighs about 100g, and when we found it, it was resting in the bushes.
5. Ride a Buggy Through the Wilderness
Unfortunately, it was drizzling, but we donned our rain gear and set off! We ran through the mountains, covered in mud from head to toe.
6. Snorkeling in the Beautiful Sea
We observed coral reefs and vibrant tropical fish. The clarity of the water was breathtaking.
7. Island Hopping
We took a boat to Pandanon Island, Nalusuan Island, and Hilutungan Island. We thoroughly enjoyed the blue skies and blue seas.
Was there any activity you wanted to try? ^^
When my kids were babies, we could only splash around in the pool at overseas resorts, but as they got older, I'm happy that there are more activities we can do together!
However, my kids said they didn't want to try the super popular Cebu activity, "swimming with whale sharks," so we had to give it up this time. We'll try again next time!
Please use this as a reference when choosing activities in Cebu.
