Dali has been a popular choice for tourism in Yunnan. Every time I walk to Dali, I feel that time is half a beat slower. It is suitable for relaxing and relaxing. This time we focus on the Dali ancient city line, from the south gate all the way to the north gate.

1️⃣ South Gate of the ancient city
As one of the most representative entrances to the ancient city of Dali, the South Gate Wall is so majestic that you can feel the historical background of the city as soon as you enter. It is recommended to go early, not crowded and not so noisy, taking pictures and checking in is quite convenient.

2️⃣ Wuhua Building
This is the landmark of the ancient city. You can see the whole ancient city of Dali from a distance. There is an outdoor teahouse downstairs, where you can sit down and enjoy tea, watch the people coming and going, and feel the tranquility of the years in the city.

3️⃣ Renmin Road
The busiest street in Dali Ancient Town, with local snacks and hipster cafes one after another. We recommend the puff pastry fan (which is a Yunnan specialty snack), and there are many specialty handmade shops where souvenirs and cultural and creative products are easy to find.

4️⃣ Foreigner Street
A natural streetscape with a mix of foreign travelers and locals, lots of small bars and international restaurants, is especially atmospheric in the evening. If you like nightlife must visit! The atmosphere is relaxed during the day, suitable for street photography and sitting in a cafe.

5️⃣ North Gate of the ancient city
When we reached the north gate there was another exit of the ancient city, close to the alleys with many interesting shops. You can choose to walk along the surroundings again, or wait for nightfall to feel the difference of the night in the Old Town.

🔖My tip:
It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes. The ancient city of Dali is full of stone roads. It's really a test of your foot strength while walking around! In summer, you can bring an umbrella, both sun and rain protection are practical enough; and the morning flow is relatively small, best suited to slowly discover quiet alleys, even popular holidays are not afraid of too crowded.

There are many authentic Yunnan restaurants near Renmin Road and Foreigner Street, such as "Dali Snack City" and "Wuhualou Tea House".

🚕Transportation Guide:
The city can take a taxi directly to the ancient city of Dali, which is about a 15-minute drive from the city to the south gate. If you drive there is also a lot of parking available. There are direct buses/special buses from Dali Railway Station/Airport, which is very convenient.
