This trip spanned Deqin, Yunna

This trip spanned Deqin, Yunnan, and the ancient city of Lijiang, each boasting its own unique beauty: hiking in Yubeng Village in Deqin and admiring the snow at Binghu Snow Village. The healing power of mountains and snow cleansed my soul. The hotel was chosen with great discerning taste, boasting a prime location. The view, visible from the window, felt like a magical paradise. I loved Yubeng's slower pace, a blissful feeling of slowing time. Finally, I finally discovered a matsutake mushroom restaurant, truly experiencing every bite as a reward from nature.

📸 Must-See Attractions

1) Yubeng Village
Address: Yubeng Village, Yunling Township, Deqin County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province
Open all day
Pack your bags and embark on a Yubeng hike! Along the way, the scenery crisscrossed: snow-capped mountains, dense forests, and flowing streams, and every breath of air felt incredibly fresh. While the hike was truly physically demanding, the satisfaction of reaching the finish line was so overwhelming that I exclaimed, "It was all worth it!" The Tibetans in the village are friendly, and the slow-paced lifestyle is incredibly relaxing. You'll also stumble across unique shops and Tibetan-style houses along the way—don't forget to take photos!

2) China Ice Lake Snow Village
The fairytale world of ice and snow truly lives up to its name! In winter, the village is blanketed in thick snow, the lake frozen solid, and the dawn light creates a vast expanse of white, creating a surreal and tranquil experience. Playing in the snow, taking photos, and sledding—every scene is a natural masterpiece. Visiting in the mornings and evenings is recommended for the most stunning play of light and shadow. Be prepared for the cold and dress in layers (including gloves and a hat).

🍄 Food Recommendations
Fresh matsutake mushrooms are a must-try in Lijiang! Many small restaurants around Yubeng Village serve freshly picked matsutake mushrooms, which are smooth and tender with a strong aftertaste, making them the perfect post-hike treat. You can also try Tibetan milk tea, yogurt, and tsampa—they're both authentic and heartwarming.

🏨 Hotel Tips
Hotel selection is crucial; compare prices and confirm room availability in advance. For breathtaking views, choose a guesthouse near the village or on higher ground. Accommodations in Lijiang and Yubeng are generally comfortable, with excellent cleanliness and service, making them perfect for a quick "downtime" getaway.

📝 Travel Tips
- The Yubeng hike is long, so be sure to pack plenty of water, energy bars, a raincoat, and hiking poles before setting off. Choose shoes with good traction.
- The temperatures in Binghu Snow Village are extremely low, so be sure to bring warm clothing and a hand warmer.
- To capture deserted snowy scenery or beautiful photos of the hike, choose early morning or evening.
- For those who prefer a slower pace, stay in Yubeng Village for a few days to savor the tranquility.
- For cross-regional travel, it's recommended to rest well the day before to avoid the fatigue of hiking in the highlands and exploring the snowy outdoors.

🚗 Transportation Tips
- Arrive in Lijiang or Shangri-La and then take a bus. To reach Yubeng Village, walk or take a short shuttle bus. In Yichun, you can take the high-speed rail or flight to downtown Yichun, then drive or rent a car to Snow Village.
- Snow Village and Yubeng Village are remote, so arrange transportation in advance to avoid wasting time.

This trip to Lijiang Old Town and Yubeng truly put all my worries behind me—a truly refreshing experience. Which do you most want to check out, the matsutake mushrooms or the snowy scenery?
