Ready to level up your bucket list with the Dolomites? 🏔️✨ Four days, nine epic landscapes, and more jaw-dropping moments than your phone can capture. Here’s the ultimate itinerary for outdoor lovers who also like efficient planning!
Day 1:
Ortisei is your base. Hop on the Seceda cableway (Strada Val d’Anna, Ortisei, 8:30AM–5PM, last goes up at 4PM) for postcard mountain views. Next, drive to Compatsch and park (Alpe di Siusi lots, 39040). Want to skip the road? Take the Alpe di Siusi cable car directly from Ortisei instead. Wandering these meadows feels like a fairytale!
Day 2:
Hit Vallunga Valley early (trailhead in Selva di Val Gardena, 39048), then zing over to Lagazuoi (Passo Falzarego cableway, 9AM–4:30PM) and Cinque Torri. Passo Giau is a road trip fever dream. Sunset from its panoramic viewpoints 🔥 is a must-do before heading to Cortina d’Ampezzo (excellent stay options and alpine eats!).
Day 3:
Trek around Tre Cime di Lavaredo (Rifugio Auronzo Parking, Via Auronzo, 39034) and the Cadini Group. Block out extra time for a hike to surreal Lake Sorapis (trailhead at Passo Tre Croci, 39034) — crystal blue waters for peak Instagram.
Day 4:
Rise and shine for Lake Braies (Pragser Wildsee, open sunrise to sunset) — early hours = fewer crowds, mirror reflections! Then explore the magical Val di Funes for classic Dolomites church views.
Transport hack: Rent a car for max freedom and comfort. Cable cars save time (but check schedules!). Parking can fill early at popular spots — arrive before 9AM.
Eat: Snack packs for hikes, try local mountain huts for hearty speck sandwiches and apple strudel. In Cortina, check out Ristorante Il Vizietto for pasta.
Key tips: Weather changes fast, pack layers! Most cableways close after 5PM. Card payments work in towns, but bring cash for huts.
