A bridge that feels like floating on water, Anlan Bridge in Dujiangyan

Anlan Bridge

Located within the Dujiangyan area, Anlan Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Min River. It serves as a key spot for experiencing and appreciating the Dujiangyan irrigation system. This long and flexible wooden plank bridge is structurally secured with steel cables, making it sturdy. However, walking on it gives a slight sensation of swaying, creating the feeling of walking above the river.

On both sides of the bridge, visitors can see the core structures of Dujiangyan, including the Fish Mouth, Feishayan Weir, and Baopingkou Drainage Outlet. These features offer a direct understanding of the scale and precision of this ancient water management system, designed thousands of years ago.

When the bridge is crowded with tourists, the swaying becomes more pronounced, adding to the unique experience of the site. This bridge alone provides a short yet memorable opportunity to immerse oneself in the history, nature, and engineering of Dujiangyan.
