🚢 About the itinerary
I chose the 4-day, 3-night cruise from Chongqing to Yichang. Along the way, I experienced the grandeur of Qutang Gorge, the elegance of Wu Gorge, and the ruggedness of Xiling Gorge—each breathtakingly beautiful.
✨ Qutang Gorge
Qutang Gorge is the shortest but most majestic, with steep cliffs on both sides and turbulent waters. Kuimen Gate is especially spectacular. Standing on the viewing platform, seeing the exact scene featured on the 10-yuan RMB note right before your eyes is truly stunning!
🌄 Wu Gorge
Wu Gorge is deep and elegant, shrouded in mist like a fairyland. Especially the Goddess Peak, which from afar looks like a graceful young woman, mysterious and beautiful.
🌊 Xiling Gorge
Xiling Gorge has many rapids and jagged rocks, with a deep canyon. Sailing through it, you can feel the overwhelming power of nature.
💡 Tips:
1. Be sure to choose a room with a balcony to enjoy the stunning river views anytime.
2. There are optional paid attractions on the ship; Baidi City and Three Gorges Folk Culture Village are both worth visiting. Baidi City offers a rich historical and cultural atmosphere, while Three Gorges Folk Culture Village lets you experience Tujia ethnic customs.
3. Make sure to apply sunscreen well; the sun on the deck is strong.
4. Remember to bring a telephoto lens for better shots of distant peaks and gorges.
This Three Gorges trip was truly unforgettable. Seeing it with my own eyes made me understand the meaning of "Once you've seen the vast sea, other waters seem insignificant; except for Mount Wushan, no other clouds compare."
