A Solo Trip to Foping: The Complete Guide!

😍😍Decided to go to Foping on a whim, bought a high-speed train ticket for 8:47 am the next day, and off I went~
It's a 50-minute journey. Stepping out of the station, the first thing I felt was the coolness! The climate was around 20 degrees, so pleasant that even the midday sun didn't feel hot.
First stop: Rented an electric bike to eat General Tower's hot bean curd skin noodles.
Second stop: Walked to Dongshan Park, started climbing at 10 am, and reached the top in half an hour! Note that the climbing point indicated by the map has many steep stairs, which made me tired and hot. I didn't encounter anyone on the way up, but I did unexpectedly come across a little squirrel🐿️, which was delightful!
There's a viewing pavilion at the top where you can overlook the county scenery, beautiful and breezy, very comfortable!
I took another path down the mountain, which was in good condition. The exit point was next to a residential house, quite hidden!
Third stop: Foping Old Street. Just a short walk down from the mountain, the old street isn't long and is lined with restaurants. There's a Panda Library, which is small.
Fourth stop: Took a taxi to Wangjiawan, a flat rate of 20 yuan. Taxis are scarce in Foping, and there are no ride-hailing services. I had planned to ride an electric bike there, but for some reason, it indicated that I was out of the operational range midway, so I took a taxi to be safe. However, I found out later that I could ride back, so I biked back to the county.
Wangjiawan is a newly popular attraction with an internet-famous red bench, hot air balloons, and lotus ponds. But it was too sunny at noon, nothing was operating, and the only cafe was closed. I guess it would be better early in the morning or in the evening.
Fifth stop: A farmhouse meal! The owner suggested one dish would be enough, so I ordered the spicy and sour konjac, delicious!
Sixth stop: Panda Base. It's free, just need to register! I took a bus from the high-speed train station, which usually departs around the time the train arrives, a 30-minute ride costing 10 yuan. I arrived at the base at 3:30 pm, and it was still a bit sunny today, so the pandas would come out for a bit and then go back in. The base isn't very big, but there are four pandas. Panda Valley seems to have only two, but the scenery is nicer.

Took the 6 pm high-speed train back after the tour!

In summary: Foping is a small place, and you can finish touring it in one day without staying overnight!
If you do want to stay, you can choose one of those internet-famous hotels with recreational activities to enrich the experience.
A must-try: Schisandra berry sparkling water, super refreshing when chilled!
There are designated parking spots for shared electric bikes, and you can't just park them anywhere!
Jinshan Park is opposite Dongshan Park, and I've heard that the scenery is even more beautiful and it's easier to climb!
