Benhuan Temple | Sanshui Big Buddha

There is a Benhuan Temple in both China and Thailand, each being the first temple in their respective countries named after a contemporary high monk. Both were built to commemorate the 109th birthday of Elder Benhuan, with the consecration ceremony held in 2015. The domestic Benhuan Temple is located in Sanshui Forest Park, and the Sanshui Big Buddha carved on the mountain wall attracts many people to check in. You can also visit other attractions in the forest park, each of which has a free parking lot with ample parking spaces, making it very convenient for self-driving tours.

The purpose of Benhuan Temple is to be built into the "Lotus Buddha Country" in the Guangzhou and Foshan region. Since its consecration, it has held the Sanshui Buddhist Culture Festival every year, and at the same time, it has held various activities such as Chinese studies, martial arts, and calligraphy to promote traditional culture. There is a large open space in front of the temple gate for parking, and you can navigate directly to Benhuan Temple. Benhuan Temple backs the mountain and faces the water. Looking from the front, the buildings are stacked up, solemn and majestic. The Big Buddha is on the southeast side of Benhuan Temple. It is not as big as imagined. The release pond in front of the Buddha statue is full of lotus flowers. You can come to worship the Buddha and enjoy the flowers during the blooming season. There is a large bird cage on the side of the road from the Big Buddha to the north gate of Benhuan Temple (Sanshui Forest Race Club). There are pigeons and a pair of peacocks in it. If it is in the mating season, you should have a better chance to see the peacock's tail.
