The entire design of Seongyojang House reflects the traditional Korean philosophical principle of harmonizing man-made structures with nature. The complex is beautifully situated within a natural, secluded setting near Gyeongpo Lake (which, historically, was accessible by boat—hence the name "Seongyo," or boat crossing). The estate is enveloped by lush greenery and mature trees, creating a sense of balance and tranquility. The curved roofs and extensive wooden framework are positioned to maximize the flow of air and light, ensuring that the peaceful natural environment is a continuous part of the living space.
