Ganzhou Park is located at No. 64 Wenqing Road, Old City District, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province.
The park has a rich historical background. It was originally the office of the Southern Jiangxi Patrol, created by Jin Ze, the Imperial Historian, in the eighth year of the Hongzhi era of the Ming Dynasty. In the fourth year of the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty, the patrol office was abolished and changed to the Gannan Road Office. In the 23rd year of Kangxi, the patrol officer Ding Wei opened a garden on the left. In the 24th year of the Daoguang era, buildings such as Fengtai Mountain, Convenient Pool, Spring Rain Pavilion, Fuqin Hall, and Magnolia Lianli Pavilion were built in the garden. In the summer of 1933, the Ganzhou Municipal Government Office opened the old site of the Road Office as Ganzhou Park, and it was renamed Zhongzheng Park in 1944. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, it was renamed Ganzhou Park again.
The park has a beautiful environment, with towering ancient trees. Osmanthus trees, camphor trees, pomelo trees, bamboo forests, etc. are still green in early winter. The historical background is also rich. It is the first free city park in Jiangxi Province and has become a place where Ganzhou citizens often relax, play, exercise in the morning, and rest.
The park is adjacent to the ancient city wall of the Song Dynasty in Ganzhou and the confluence of the Gan, Zhang, and Gong rivers. Tourists can experience the leisure life of the people in southern Jiangxi while visiting classic attractions.
