Shanxi Gaoping Lianghu Village Shilang Mansion

The Shilang Mansion faces south and is composed of a main courtyard with four sections and several cross courtyards. It was built during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty and was the former residence of Tian Fengqing. The main courtyard has a southeast entrance with a tall gate tower and a prominent screen wall, featuring stone pillars, brick carvings, and ornate dougong brackets and hanging columns, giving it a magnificent appearance. The first section has three inverted rooms used as reception rooms, the second section includes a hall and pavilion for receiving guests, the third section is a corridor, and the fourth section is the inner residence. On the east side of the main courtyard, there is a passageway. On the west side of the passageway, from south to north, are a small study courtyard, kitchen, steward’s courtyard, and a rear small courtyard, making it a fully functional ancient official’s residence.
