Tucked away in Eco Botanik, Johor, MISEYA Restaurant offers a pleasant surprise for Japanese food lovers, especially those craving authentic okonomiyaki — a rare find in Malaysia. We visited on a quiet Monday night for dinner and were pleased with the experience.
The menu features both Osaka and Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, and I went with the seafood Hiroshima version. It was well-prepared, flavorful, and layered just right. A real comfort dish done properly. The green salad was also refreshing — crisp greens topped with creamy potato salad, cherry tomatoes, and finished with a classic wafu dressing that tied everything together nicely.
One of the highlights was the grilled salmon belly. It was cooked to perfection — tender, juicy, and rich without being overly oily.
Service was friendly and efficient, without being overbearing. While the restaurant isn’t flashy, the food speaks for itself. For those in the area looking for genuine Japanese flavours — especially okonomiyaki — MISEYA is worth a visit.
