Aoluguya is a tribe where the Ewenki people live, located on the bank of the Aoluguya River in the northernmost part of Genhe City, Hulunbuir City, and the western suburbs of Genhe City. It is the farthest and most mysterious place where a branch of the Ewenki people live. Aoluguya, also known as the Reindeer Ewenki, means a place where poplar forests thrive. Here is an introduction to Aoluguya:
- The Aoluguya Ewenki are a typical forest people. They make a variety of life utensils with unique styles from birch bark, which are simple, elegant, lightweight, waterproof, and durable. Large ones include birch bark boats, cuoluozi, deer saddles, and small ones include birch bark boxes, birch bark baskets, needle and thread bags, etc.
- Birch bark products use the natural texture of birch bark, and are completed through dozens of processes such as peeling, steaming, pressing, planing, and carving. They are carved with decorative patterns of nature and life scenes, showing the unique aesthetic taste of the Aoluguya Ewenki, and it is a continuation of the forest culture of the Aoluguya Ewenki people.
- Aoluguya Ewenki Township has been named 'Hometown of Birch Bark Culture' by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Culture Department many times. 'Birch Bark Culture' is an important part of the traditional culture of the Aoluguya Ewenki people.
- Today, the Aoluguya Ewenki hunters continue to improve their skills in making birch bark, make full use of natural conditions, and fully play the maximum performance of birch bark. While pursuing practicality, they pay more attention to decoration. Therefore, birch bark products not only have high practical value, but also have ornamental and collection value, and are the most intuitive cultural samples of the Aoluguya Ewenki people.
