Thean Hou Temple, also known as Thean Hou Kong Temple or Penang’s Hainan Temple, is a Hainanese temple located on Muntri Street in George Town, Penang, Malaysia.

The Hainanese community built the Tianhua Temple in 1866 to worship the Goddess Mazu, and moved it to its current location on Mantri Road in 1895. It is about 124 years old. The front wall is beautifully carved and looks magnificent.

How to get to the temple

You can take the Penang Rapid bus number 10, 11, 101, 200, 201, 202, 203, 206 and walk into the alley a bit.

Or you can walk. The distance is not very far.
