The Queen’s Orchard

Hidden away behind the formal gardens lies the Queen’s Orchard — quiet, walled, and full of trees heavy with the last apples of the year. In late October, it feels like a forgotten sanctuary. The leaves fall slowly, the air smells sweet and damp, and the world outside seems far away. I visited one grey morning and heard nothing but the sound of fruit dropping softly into the grass. It was oddly moving — the beauty of things ending gracefully. A secret, sacred calm. #hellohalloween
