Sanxingdui Ruins (Sichuan)

Sanxingdui was one of the most mysterious and surprising sites I visited in China. Unlike anything from the Han or Tang dynasties, the artifacts here—massive bronze masks, strange human figures, and sacred trees—come from a lost civilization that predated much of traditional Chinese history. The newly renovated museum is world-class, with beautiful lighting, English explanations, and interactive displays. It challenges your idea of what “Chinese” history is. The entire experience is surreal and incredibly thought-provoking. If you’re into archaeology or just want to see something truly unique, Sanxingdui should be high on your list. It’s absolutely worth the trip to Sichuan
